i was born in manitoba and spent the first 7 years of my life there. i have a few memories of my time there and some that stand out are learning how to ice skate on the red river behind my grandparents farm, the musty smell in my grandma’s basement. i remember being told in kindergarten not to lick anything metal in winter…and proceeding to do so my most memorable christmas gift as a child is without a doubt the barbie house my grandpa made me. it is a three storey house with 5 rooms, a veranda and garage. i could curl up inside it till i was 10 so you know it was big
when is was 8 my sister came along…i had very mixed feelings about this, i was used to being the youngest child and the only girl in the family so to have to share that was a rather large pill to swallow! but i have to say that now i am so glad that she’s in my life…she is a fabulous french teacher, the best auntie, a kind and compassionate soul! she grew up here in bc but is marrying a man from manitoba and they currently reside out there. i can’t wait for the day that they move out here and start having babies of their own.
i attended a private high school and made some amazing friendships that i continue to maintain! and now our children are growing up as friends. i met my husband at 21 and we were married at 24. we were fortunate to travel to thailand, mexico on several occasions, dominican republic all before we had kids. we’ve since been able to take our kids to hawaii and jamaica. we love to travel and have many places on our list to go.
like most photographers, i have loved taking photos for as long as i can remember but didn’t think about it as a career till about 5 years ago! i have enjoyed learning about my camera, but most of all i’ve loved my awesome clients that i’d like to call friends! i get to be part of the one of the most unforgettable days of people’s lives. i laugh with them, cry with them and i look forward to all the fabulous couples i’ll get to meet.
